DHL · Florstadt

Description

The new logistics building expands the capacities of DHL Supply Chain’s multi-user Life Sciences & Healthcare (LSHC) Campus for pharmaceutical and medical products in Florstadt, around 35 kilometres north of Frankfurt am Main. As a GoGreen Carbon Neutral Building, the building sets new standards in terms of energy saving and sustainability and meets the criteria for the DGNB ‘Gold’ sustainability certificate.

The building offers many technical highlights for users. It has three temperature-controlled areas and a hazardous materials store. It also features solar energy , a solar thermal system on the façade, fossil-free heat pump technology, a roof structure made from the renewable material timber and an exceptionally well-insulated building shell.

“The fabrikon team was already extremely involved in the project before the project was commissioned. Their genuine enthusiasm for our project and their technical expertise ultimately tipped the scales in favour of building DHL Supply Chain’s first carbon neutral warehouse in Europe with fabrikon and its partners.”
